||Fabrics are constructed to address specific filtration requirements.
||Selection of yarn i.e. monofilament, multifilament staple has a great effect on fabric performance
||Selection of weave pattern C plain, turill, satin & other has a effect on filtrate clarity, resistance to flow moisture in cake, cake discharge ease, cloth life etc.
||Fabric geometry i.e. yarn size, tuists / in. Threads / in in warp a weft has a effect on fabric performance during filtration.
||After precision weaving raw fabric is further treated to finishing processes like calendering heat setting etc. to get control on elongation & permeability.
||Woven fabrics have surface filtration phenomenon while felt or non wovens have depth filtration phenomenon hence now a days woven are also being used for solid liquid separation.
||Accurate selection of fabric for filtration purpose is due largely to science and partly to an acquired art, we through our experience have partly mastered the art.
